It’s another to invoke someone like Tubman - a Black woman born into slavery who dedicated most of her life to rescuing others along the same Underground Railroad she used. They were talking about a lifestyle that allowed to her to hire someone else to clean the house. Hollis went on to say that the women she admires most in history were “unrelatable” and said that if most people could relate to her life “I’m doing it wrong.” In the comments on the Instagram post, Hollis wrote “Harriet Tubman, RBG, Marie Curie, Oprah Winfrey, Amelia Earhart, Frida Khalo, Malala Yousafzai, Wu Zetian… all Unrelatable AF.”Ī post shared by Rachel Hollis a lot going on here including, primarily, what feels like a deliberate misunderstanding of what people mean by “relatable.” The commenters saying they couldn’t relate to Hollis weren’t talking about her ambition or her work ethic. “Literally everything I do in my life is to a live a life that most people can’t relate to. Hollis acknowledged her privilege but also defended herself, saying she’d worked hard to be able to hire someone to clean her house, before going on a long tear about why she doesn’t want to be “relatable.” It all started last week, when Hollis posted a video to TikTok responding to a commenter who’d noted that Hollis was “privileged” and “unrelatable” for employing a house cleaner. For example, drawing a comparison between herself and legendary abolitionist Harriet Tubman because she …has a house cleaner? The main drawback is that your smartphone needs to be nearby and connected to the Wakey for it does most things, including setting alarms. The Wakey is a little bit of an outlier on this list because 1) it doesn't have a display and 2) it doesn't have any Wi-Fi connectivity and, therefore, doesn't have a built-in voice assistant. Smartphone needs to be nearby to do most things. No built-in voice assistant or smart display. But it's a solid, capable and affordable smart alarm clock for anybody with an Amazon smart home. The Echo Show 5 isn't the best speaker, nor is its display as intuitive or responsive as the Nest Hub, for example. It works with a large variety of Amazon's speakers and smart home devices, so you can group it in a multi-room system with other Echo devices or summon a live feed from a compatible security camera (there is a lot of that support Alexa). It responds Alexa and you can even use voice commands to delete recordings instead of having to use the Alexa app you can say “Alexa, delete everything I said today,” or “Alexa, delete what I just said” to swiftly delete voice data. It has a camera for things like video calls, but there’s a built-in cover so you can manually block it whenever you like (including all the time). Of course, the larger the smart alarm clock the more likely the larger its display will be and that's going to make it easier to view and read content (like the time, weather or news). Size and display: Space is limited on your nightstand and depending on the size of the smart alarm clock, it might not fit (or fit well). Since many of these smart alarm clocks are tiny, they generally don't sound all that great. Sound quality: A smart alarm clock can also function as a speaker - and sound quality is definitely important. That said, the camera does afford some special features like video calls. So even though every smart alarm clock that does have a built-in camera allows you to manually turn it off, its mere presence might be a deal breaker. It'll make your life and controlling all your devices a lot easier.Ĭamera: Most people don't want a device with a camera in their bedroom. In sports, trash-talk most commonly comes in the form of insults to an opposing player's playing ability or physical appearance which is ethically not acceptable. Trash-talk has become a debatable term especially in North American sports, with the greatest trash talkers being acknowledged for both their trash talking skills as much as their athletic and mental abilities. Although the practice of trying to distract opponents by verbal abuse is common to virtually all sports, other sports sometimes have their own terminology for verbal abuse: for example, cricket calls it sledging and in ice hockey it is called chirping. Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is also considered by many to be one of the greatest trash-talkers MMA has ever had. Former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is a more recent example of a prominent trash-talker, he is considered by most to be the greatest trash-talker in MMA history. However, in amateur sports ranks, trash talking is generally frowned upon as unsportsmanlike conduct (especially in youth leagues). Since then, it has become common for boxers, wrestlers, and many other sports competitors to use trash-talk. It was entitled I Am the Greatest!, a phrase that became his signature line. In 1963, Ali even released a popular full-length record album consisting largely of trash-talk poetry. Trash-talk was most famously used by heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali in the 1960s and 70s. Trash-talk is often characterized by use of hyperbole or figurative language, such as "Your team can't run! You run like honey on ice!" Puns and other wordplay are commonly used. It is often used to intimidate the opposition and/or make them less confident in their abilities as to win easier, but it can also be used in a humorous spirit. Trash talk is a form of insult usually found in sports events, although it is not exclusive to sports or similarly characterized events. Those who type for a living usually prefer “clicky” switches with a tactile bump (often labeled as blue, white, or green) that you can feel when the switch actuates. But, this kind of switch often results in more mistakes (often repeated letters) when typing. Many gamers prefer linear switches (often labeled as red or brown) because they make it easier to mash the same buttons repeatedly in quick succession. But for those that do, you’ll have plenty of switch options, depending on the model you choose. Pick your switch: Not all of the best wireless keyboards will use mechanical switches. A single light color will get the job done, but RGB backlighting lets you change things up. But if you work or game late into the night and don’t want to (or can’t) switch on overhead lights, a keyboard with backlit keys is what you should be looking for.
